Friends, hello, I want to share with you a story about my last weekend in Portugal. Yesterday, as you know, my friends and I went fishing for ACLE! Just kidding, of course, but in general, we could have caught one, too.
How to spend a weekend in Portugal? Preparation and tips for beginners.
But since it’s the open ocean, you had to be prepared.
To go fishing in the open ocean you either have to find a boat on the seafront and arrange with the captain, or rent a boat, buy a license and go fishing on your own.
For beginners, it is best to go with a guide. So we did, we had an experienced captain with 30 years of experience and a couple of third-generation fishers in our crew) so everything should have gone great!
Yes, that’s exactly what happened. While we hollered out of our Marina and enjoyed, the truly wonderful views of our beloved town Cascais.
But as soon as we moved away from the shore, the boat got up to 45 degrees and raced with crazy speed over the waves, or rather flying up over the water so that I thought all the fillings on my teeth would fly out. It was unbelievable! Like a Formula 1, but on water.
There was a bumpy ride for 20-25 minutes, and when we slowed down, I sighed with relief; I think we did not drown, already good.
But the captain’s question made me wary: “Can you withstand waves like that?”
How to spend a weekend in Portugal? First hours at sea.
I thought it was no big deal, so a wave of 3-4 meters and impossible to stand on your feet without holding on to the handrail, but in general, it was no big deal. And then the most interesting thing, actually, that we came here and rushing headlong – fishing began. We made bets, ten euros each, on who would be the first to pull out a fish. And it was the birthday boy Grishka, who caught a red perch.
And then, for me it was a surprise, instead of fish I started catching “PLEAD” I felt so bad that after 15 minutes of our fishing, I decided to lie down for a while, I felt shaky and nauseous so that I could not stand straight)))) guys, of course, laughed from such a fisherman) and I wanted to go ashore, but around the ocean woo-hoo))
After a while (for me forever), we swam to where there was not so stormy, and I was able to take my mind off the Pale because it started biting and caught a couple of fish)
My joy with the usual state lasted not long, the waves un anchored us and carried far into the ocean, and the same Pale has not let me go.
I, accordingly, moved to the place of honor at the bow of our fast boat, where it was rocking the least, took a horizontal position, and could not get up again until the disembarkation)
There was, of course, a decent catch, and I couldn’t help but taste the fresh fish on the grill, cooked right on the boat, which had just furrowed the ocean abysses, and I also ate it lying down)
The second and the third time of fishing, they say that I still feel sick, but the fourth time is already normal; I think I’ll skip the second and the third and start immediately from the fourth time – the next fishing trip, what do you think?)
I’ll keep you posted on our next sea stories)
